Vietnam expands visa exemption policy, effective from August 15th, 2025

Vietnam Government passed Resolution No. 229/NQ-CP which took effect from August 15th, 2025 to August 14th, 2028 to give visa exemption to citizens of these countries:

Belgium
Bulgaria
Croatia
Czech Republic
Hungary
Luxembourg
Netherlands
Poland
Romania,
Slovak Republic
Slovenia
Switzerland

By that which means citizens of these countries can enter Vietnam without a visa, duration of stay is maximum 45 days, regardless of the purpose of entry, number of entry.

Up to August 15th, 2025. Vietnam has upgraded number of countries enjoy free-visa free, list below:

14-day visa-free: Brunei, Myanmar
21-day visa-free: Philippines
30-day visa-free: Belarus, Cambodia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, Thailand
45-day visa-free: Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherland, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom
90-day visa-free: Chile, Panama
